Our story
It all started with a trip
Then a second one, and a third. Over the years Thailand became much more than a holiday: a place we keep coming back to, and where we take our time. Time to get lost in Bangkok's markets at dawn, to eat standing up on a street corner, to head north to Chiang Mai for a bowl of khao soi.
And above all, time to learn. Cooking classes with cooks and grandmothers who never weigh a thing and get it right every time. Pounding curry paste in a mortar, "cracking" coconut cream, tasting and adjusting: sour, salty, sweet, hot.
Back home, the same frustration every time. No galangal, no makrut lime leaves, no proper curry paste. The dishes never tasted quite the same.
Pum Pui is how we made it happen: bringing back the essentials so you can travel from your own kitchen.
Every box holds the ingredients you can't get here, picked in Thailand. A step-by-step recipe, and a video so you can cook along like you're in a class. You add the fresh bits, we take care of the rest.
So why "Pum Pui"?
It's an affectionate Thai word for someone round and well-padded. Pretty much how you feel after a good Thai meal. We found it funny, and rather fitting.
